Ginny has a new little fixation. It's cute, but she can be a bit bossy about it. I figured she may enjoy watching some old home movies of Nathan, so I started letting her watch the digital ones I had in my hard drive on the computer recently. Her favorites are the ones where Nathan or his cousins are having birthday parties and we sing the birthday song. She will attempt to sing along, pretty much just singing "happy" over and over. When the video is over, she will angrily call out "Happy Happy!" until we find another. So, today I made a little compilation which I uploaded to YouTube and here so I can have quick access to them so to avoid the wrath of "Happy Happy!" demands. Here's the little compilation:

Woops....
Ginny decided she wanted to try to give herself a haircut today. Fortunately she only got one cut before we realized what she was doing. Still, she's got a good swipe in....

Berry Good Weekend
This weekend was a great one. Saturday the little guy and I started it out with Free Comic Book Day in Salisbury, and later the rest of the family went picking strawberries at a nearby farm. That night, I made my first ever strawberry pie. I haven't tried it yet, but there's a missing piece where Sharon did, so I'm waiting to hear the verdict. This morning, for Mother's Day, Ginny participated in her first ever preschool choir performance, and despite what we thought she'd end up doing (crying, leaving the stage, wandering around, waving or calling out our names), she actually made a valiant attempt at singing and dancing along with the music, and was well-behaved. And finally this afternoon, we met my mom and dad in Shelby for dinner at a nice Japanese restaurant and ice cream afterwards. Sharon's mom is in the hospital and she got to visit her there over the weekend a few times, which made Mother's Day a bit different, but for our first Mother's Day weekend with Ginny, it was a good one.

Happy Mother's Day (correction)
You know, all childhood art is precious because of its good intention. But you know, I'm not sure, but I believe Nathan drew Sharon with a little bit of beard stubble in this picture. Just sayin...

Correction: Later Nathan told me that this was not supposed to be Mommy, but former lead singer of Journey Steve Perry at his first ever sleepover. Okay.....

Yip-PEE
No, I'm not talking about my cat. For the second night in a row, Ginny has decided she wanted to go pee-pee in the potty. This in itself is nothing new, as she's been sitting either on her potty seat, or her little kid potty, but it was just that - sitting. However, last night with Sharon, and tonight with me, there was not the silence that we were accustomed to when she told us she needed to go. So, it's an early victory, but a victory nonetheless. Ginny's also been in a very good mood for the last several days, although she's been really belaboring going to bed lately. We have our first post-placement home-study visit tomorrow evening. It's hard to believe its been six months already.
